Monitor Forest Plan progress

Short term objective: "To monitor the progress of the Plan."

Activities:

An active annual monitoring programme is coordinated by The Mersey Forest.

A 5 Year Review is being carried out in 2006 / 2007, of which this website is a part.

Squirrel monitoring transects are carried out on a biannual basis and National Vegetation Classification National Vegetation Classification surveys are also undertaken.

A question for you:

No management plan is ‘active’ unless progress is being monitored. Each year as much information as possible is collected and collated into reports that are fed back to the public through the Sefton Coast Partnership and all other relevant outlets. There is a balance between collecting enough information to judge progress and not collecting enough – do you feel that we are achieving a useful balance?
